Selected Teachings on
There is No Family Organization
Outside of the Celestial Kingdom

Joseph Fielding Smith (Quorum of the Twelve)

We should remember, as Latter-day Saints, that outside of the celestial kingdom, there is no family organization. That organization is reserved for those who are willing to abide in every covenant and every obligation which we are called upon to receive while we sojourn here in this mortal life. (Conference Report, Oct. 1948, p. 153)

Bruce R. McConkie (Quorum of the Twelve)

Exaltation consists of an inheritance in the highest heaven of the celestial world, where alone the family unit continues and where each recipient gains for himself an eternal family unit, patterned after the family of God our Heavenly Father, so that every exalted person lives the kind of life which God lives and is therefore one with him. (The Promised Messiah, p.130)
